Mark your calendars for Friday February 13th and plan on attending with your special someone the Friends of the Ivanhoe Librarys Cold Stone Ice Cream Fundraiser, which will be held from noon to 5 in the Ivanhoe Community Center. Cold Stone Creamery of Marshall, will be providing us with delicious cups of ice cream that we will sell for $3.50 each. The Friends members plan on providing a spectacular array of delicious baked goodies that you can purchase for 50 cents each to enjoy with your ice cream. Coffee and juice will also be available. If your short on time, and unable to stay and enjoy your treats, we will be glad to sell you cups ice cream and goodies to take home. We would also like to invite you to take in a special demonstration put on by the Lincoln County 4-H Lego/Robotics Club. This club is comprised of students from Lincoln Elementary School here in Ivanhoe. Since October, these students have attended a special 4-H after school program, held bi-monthly at the Library, that has focused on learning Robotics through the use of Legos and computers. The students have now mastered the basics of robotics, and would like to show the off their new skills to our community. The demonstration will take place from 1:30-2:30 in the Community Center during the fundraiser. I would like to thank the Lincoln County 4-H Leadership Council for providing us with money to buy the robotics kits. Kate Johnson, local 4-H leader, and I are hoping to take the robotics program county wide this summer and encourage other county youth to join our group. I would also like to thank the Friends of the Ivanhoe Library for putting on this and other past fundraisers. Over the years, these dedicated library supporters have raised money for the library, that has been used to provide childrens entertainers for the Summer Reading Program and Polish Days. I would also like to thank you for attending their fundraisers, your willingness to support our fundraisers also helps the library play a major role in our community.
