Market Shrugs Off Concerns Over FDA Arsenic Data Release Expected Tomorrow September 06, 2013 - 01:04:04 Offers remain firm around $15.56-$16.66 per fob farm (about $343-$367 per ton), depending on where they are located in the U.S. mid-South, for October through December shipment. Meanwhile bids from most larger mills and exporters held steady near $15.00 per cwt (about $331 per ton) and $15.35 per cwt (about $338 per ton), respectively, for October through December delivery, although several trades were reported to have occurred as low as $15.56 per cwt (about $343 per ton) fob farm today. The U.S rice industry expects that U.S. Food and Drug Administration will release data on their sampling of arsenic in rice and rice products tomorrow and as of now most expect that the release will be a non-event. The Iraqi Grain Board issued another tender for at least 30,000 tons of rice of either Thai, Uruguayan, Argentine or US origin. Bids need to be submitted no later than September 16th and must remain valid through September 20. see more: arpecrice
