Marla Lillibridge 7 hours ago · Not many new things to report with Amber. She continues to fight her battles well. I feel like we are making progress despite the current infections. Shes had some nausea which is being controlled by zofran. This symptom would be very concurrent with her current meds and infections as well. As far as the trache site, which is area one for infection, it looks fabulous as far as wounds go. It has a very healthy wound bed and the scarring is picture perfect. The other infection is internal and I can only go by secondary symptoms which appear to be very controlled. This week is a busy week for us. Tuesday we see the physical rehab dr in charge in Columbus to see what is in store for the future and brag on her progress made thus far. Friday she will be see by the facial reconstruction doctor for a follow up on the remaining wires that need to be removed. I pray that all infections clear up this time so the trache can be removed and we can progress to February with only her orthopedic surgeon to consult with. I am super excited about her February 7 appointment and I hope and pray she may be able to stand for the first time that day! I feel as Im reliving her early years awaiting her first steps. I cant wait until the day she can wear her pretty sandals again and I can hear the tip tap of her tiny feet on the floors. Shes had her frustrations and believe me, I think she is warranted for them. Amber continues to fight like a champion. I love tucking her in bed at night and watching her smile as soon as she sits on her bed. Her expressions are a physical sight that we all feel as soon as we crawl into bed after a long day. I always giggle a little when I watch her. We have the same memory foam mattresses but she makes hers look so much more comfortable. lol although, she did casually mention today about napping in my bed again.. Haha her pup Peanut has not left her side, hes taken a slight twist of attitude with us when we try to let him out to potty, he is adamant about his guard on her. She tells him to be nice and she loves him but he has to go potty. He sighs then hops down and runs to the door, goes, then right back in. I have learned to take him snacks and meals.. Im convinced he would not eat otherwise. Amber hangs out in the family room with us so he can socialize with his brothers and sister, although he really only wants his Mommy. Mr. Moose has made improvements as well. His meds are working well and I think possibly that since he is growing/has grown so fast, he may be experiencing slight growing pains. After all, hes gained about 50 pounds in a few short months. Hes a big boy. I call him cujo when he peeks out from the corner in the middle of the night.. Im glad Im his friend, lol I sure wouldnt want to be on the business end of those canine teeth! Anyhow, I will post any updates from doctors and life this week. :0)
