Marloth Missive I have always wanted to visit China. I believe - TopicsExpress

Marloth Missive I have always wanted to visit China. I believe personally that China had a far more important role to play in the history of the world up to today than its been given credit for. What we have been taught about history is so Eurocentric that we may as well throw most of the current history books out of the door. For example, weve all been taught that the Renaissance, which brought Europe out of the dark ages, began spontaneously in Italy. This is so far from the truth that it enters the realm of fairy tales, yet its still taught to our grandchildren at school. We need to know more about Chinas history to understand how we got where we are. But thats a topic for another day. My real reason for wanting to visit China, is curiosity. You see, Ive been doing some calculations lately. If you take the number of rhino poached since rhino poaching became an epidemic, multiply that by the average weight of the horns, and then divide that total by the average dose taken by Chinese men to achieve the desired result, then by now there shouldnt be any need for more, because surely every Chinese male is walking around with a permanent priapism! My curiosity is driving me crazy! Do Chinese men wear different trousers than us Westerners do, or are they proud of their condition? Come to think of it, their trousers HAVE to be different, or they would spend their days sitting down, or otherwise in extreme discomfort. I suppose there is one advantage to being high on rhino horn permanently - when they get out of the shower, theyve got a handy place to hang their towels! To get serious, recent scientific studies appear to show that belief in so-called alternative medicines, such as homeopathic and Chinese medicines, has become hard-wired in to the DNA of much of the worlds population. If this is true, we need to be encouraging research into the human genome, instead of condemning it as men doing gods work, so that we can alter the DNA markers causing the problem, and maybe save our rhino and lion. When you read the news and find out that our National Parks Board have given up the fight to save the rhino, and plans to simply get them out of the Kruger National Park, is there anything else we can do?
