Between emergencies, the urgency of every Sunday, and the fact weekends are our primary work times, its challenging to make and keep traditions in ministry. I didnt understand how special they can be. Start your own traditions early. Traditions are wonderful anchor points for your marriage, and later your family. It can be something as small as eating chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast on Memorial Day, or making homemade pizza for Thanksgiving. Your traditions dont have to be big, expensive, elaborate, or meaningful to others. They are YOUR traditions. Start them now. Thirty years from now, your kids will look back on them as special times together.
