Marriage laws should be left to the states to determine, in keeping with the spirit behind the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Supreme Court’s refusal to address these cases further places a court’s judgment above the judgment of people who live in states like Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and Indiana, who have made their collective voices heard on this issue. This is, unfortunately, another instance of overreach by the federal government.
