Marsh Supermarket in Bloomington, technically in Highland Village - TopicsExpress

Marsh Supermarket in Bloomington, technically in Highland Village is going way DOWNHILL when it comes to service. Several times lately, when trying to purchase something from their sale ad, especially meat dept items, theyre OUT. One night, I rang the bell that states Ring Bell for assistance in Meat Dept. Well, no one ever came to help, and when I asked why, I was told they leave at 4:00 (or 5 or about an hour prior to when I was there) so Id have to wait until morning to purchase the item, after they had packaged more. This is POOR SERVICE that early in the evening. Well, this afternoon, about 4:30, I decided Id have fried chicken for dinner. When I approached the Deli area, there was no Fried Chicken. The two young people behind the counter were busy talking to a young person about their age, obviously a friend from the casual conversation they were laughing about. FINALLY, the girl asked me if she could help me, AFTER I cleared my throat to suggest they pay attention to their other customers, and when I asked how long it would be before chicken was ready, she was totally surprised that there was none, and said at least 25 minutes, we dont have any down. I proceeded to tell her that maybe she should quit spending so much time talking and start paying attention to her job responsibilities. I then went to the Service Desk, where a man, not much older than the Deli youths was leaned against the counter talking to the man at the Desk. As soon as I approached, the man asked if he could assist me. I asked if the Manager was there. He pointed to the young man leaning on the counter. I told him my story and told him that I was disappointed in Marshs Service every time I had shopped there lately. He seemed totally unconcerned. He was basically reciting a script....Im sorry you had a problem. was pretty much all he offered. I ask you, Is it just me, or does the younger generation just NOT CARE???? Marsh is about to fold due to lack of business....HELLO....How can you sell products if you dont make employees do their jobs???? Im sorry, Once a manager always a manager, I suppose. Id like to work in some of these places just 1 week, but then Id probably have ALL the doors locked and stores shut down because I FIRED ALL the INCOMPETENT employees. Its sure not like it used to be...... and Marsh Supermarkets gotten all of my money they will ever get..........just sayin........
