Marshall Bruce Mathers III (* 17 October 1972, Saint Joseph, Missouri), better known as Eminem is an American rapper, record producer, actor and founder of the record label Shady Records. It is also a member of the Detroit group D12, which is now dissolved. His musical career earned him thirteen prestigious music awards and a Grammy in 2002 and the Academy Award for Best Song, and "Lose Yourself" from the film "8 Mile." His most successful albums are: The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002) which combined have sold about 40 million copies worldwide and won two awards diamond plate from the RIAA. His biggest hits are then songs: Lose Yourself, Crack a Bottle (ft. Dr. Dre and 50 Cent), Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie (ft. Rihanna), all of which reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 In 2009 he was voted the best by Billboard artist of the decade.
