Marshall County~I want to step on the soap box this morning...but I think I prefer calling it a dog house How is it that there are people that are STILL NOT aware of the problems caused by not spaying or neutering their pets? What is the plan? Do we just continue to let them breed? Are you really ok with your tax dollars being used to kill them? We let the problem run rampant and then we pay to fix the problem! Why not try to prevent the problem so that we dont have to spend all the tax dollars to control the problem!!! I just dont understand how we, who are supposed to be intelligent human beings, let things get so out of control!!! Why is it that people will not be responsible for their pets? We need better rules and regulations! I think its about time to use force. We simply CANNOT let this continue! If you truly care about the efforts of animal rescue and shelter people, then do your part! Tell that person that is letting their intact male run loose that it is WRONG! Tell them to get that female spayed! Tell them they ARE part of the PROBLEM and that we have better things to do with our tax dollars! ( but try and say it in a nice way! 😉) And while I am on my dog house dont pay thousands of dollars for a puppy! If you just think you must buy a little puppy with AKC papers ( AKC is a joke, IMO) then do your research...find one on your own...make sure the person is reputable! If you buy from a store you do not know the background! I always say that you must demand to see the parents and surrounding in which they were born! I do not condone a puppy store regardless of what they call their little store ! And if you can buy while another little soul dies in a shelter...then this is your choice and your conscience ...the same goes for not spaying or neutering your pet ! I just thank God that I dont have those choices on my conscience ...but I do spend every moment of my spare time helping with the aftermath! We need change!!!! Breeder License, spay neuter laws, louder voices and a bigger village to make it happen! Please do your part!!! And thanks to all those that tirelessly give I their time, money, heart and soul for those that have no voice! And as I step from my dog house I ask, if you care, please join AVRAL, we dont ask for much...just to share in the effort to make changes all across Alabama. Our state is a complete embarrassment when it comes to animal laws. HOWEVER, I think that that bestiality may now be AGAINST the law!!....in 2014!!! Yes, kind citizens of Alabama, bestiality WAS NOT against the law!!! Go figure! Off the dog house now and thank you if you took time to read my lengthy rant.
