Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection - TopicsExpress

Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord” she told him, “I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.” And after she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. “The teacher is here,” she said, “and is looking for you.” When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him. “The Master is come and calleth for you…” When Christ calls, it is a personal call… He calls us all when he is ready, will you be ready to answer his call. He calls men to Himself. This is a call to peace, with no more worries and no more fears. We are called to a guiltless conscience, and to a full pardon of sin, to a new life in Christ. John 11:15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him. Martha said, “If you had been here… Jesus said in affect: I’m glad I was not. This is so they would believe that we would believe. That his power might be revealed and that we all would see and believe, that we would not mistake His power for something else. Through our troubles and our pains Jesus gets to our hearts. This is how he reaches us to get us to listen to Him. Jesus calls us in many ways. Romans 10:13-17 for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. He calls us through providence, through tragedy, death, and sickness, etc… But he calls us always through the Holy Spirit. John 16 7-13 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. I have much more to say to you, more than you can bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into the truth. He will not speak on his own, he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He is calling you to confess your sins. You must confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. He calls us to a new birth. John 3:3-6 In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but Spirit gives birth to Spirit. He is calling you to a holy life. Romans 12: 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- This is your spiritual act of worship. He is calling you to eternal life in heaven. A place of many mansions, a place prepared for God’s people. John 14:2-4 “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” He is calling you to himself that he might save your soul. That he might make your life useful for God, that you might dwell with him eternally. “Where I am ye may be also.” Will you answer his call?
