Martha has agreed we will be coming back to Scotland in the summer without the use of a plane! as follows: Bus to Beijing Train from Beijing to Ulaanbator, Mongolia Horse ride from Ulanbaatar to the Russian border (2 days organised trek) Trans Siberian Railway to Moscow (with one stop in Siberia) Moscow to Kiev on the night train Kiev Cologne - train again Cologne to Brussels - probably train Brussells to London on Eurostar London-Dundee - to be decided, possibly bus. Ticket is all inclusive as far as London as Beijing is the official start of trans Siberian railway and London the official end. Two weeks in Scotland (with our lovely Chinese friend coming by plane to meet us) and then fly back to Hong Kong and train back to Guangzhou. Guangzhou to Dundee including stops will be about 18 days. Can be done in 7 if going all the way without stopping. Really looking forward to this. The Trans Siberian is one of the last great journeys on earth.
