Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed on Monday, Jan. 19. Kennebec Valley Community College along with other institutions in the greater Waterville area will be celebrating the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students, staff and faculty will have multiple events to choose from during the upcoming week. First, KVCC has on reserve tickets to attend the movie Selma (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selma_%28film%29) which is a dramatization of the multiple marches for voter rights attended by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights activists. These tickets are available to KVCC students on a first come first served basis. See the trailer for the movie here (selmamovie/) To ask for a ticket please email [email protected] Show times: Friday, Jan. 16 -- Thursday, Jan. 22 Daily at 2:30, 5:00 and 7:30 Also matinees Sat. and Sun. at 12:00 Noon KVCC students will also have the opportunity to participate in many exciting events happening at the Colby College campus. KVCC has reserved seats for the January 19th speaker and January 22nd movie so that KVCC students can attend these events. The other events listed for the upcoming week are open to the public and do not require reservations.
