Martyrdom without Fighting Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ) said, The martyrs are of five kinds: One who dies of plague; one who dies of disease of his belly; the drowned; one who dies under the debris (of construction, etc.), and one who dies while fighting in the way of Allah. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Commentary: The Hadith mentioned four categories of people, besides those who were slain on the battlefield, whom Allah will, by His Special Grace, give on the Day of Judgement an award similar to martyrs on condition that they are true believers and practising Muslims. In some other Ahadith, certain other persons have also been mentioned who will be given the status of martyrs by Allah. There is no contradiction in these Ahadith for the reason that first of all the Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ) was told about five categories of martyrs which were disclosed by him. Subsequently Almighty Allah added some more people to them which were also mentioned by him. The real Shaheed is one who voluntarily gives his life for the sake of Allah provided that he wholeheartedly fights on the battlefield. 235/1353 - Riyad Us-Saliheen(Gardens of the Righteous) ==================== The Desirability of Observing Saum (Fasting) on Mondays (sunnah) Abu Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) was asked about fasting on Mondays. He said, That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I received Revelation.[Muslim]. Commentary: This Hadith points out the excellence of fasting on Mondays. The reason behind this, as is stated in the Hadith, is that the Prophet (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) was born on it and that it was the day on which he received the first Revelation. It coincided with the 17th Ramadan as well. 229/1255 - Riyad Us-Saliheen (Gardens of the Righteous) ==================== Reported by Abu Hurairah (رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنه ): I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “Man follows his friend’s religion, you should be careful who you take for friends.” [Tirmidhi & Abu Dawud - Riyad us Saliheen, Chapter 45, 367) ============== The noble Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, No father gave anything to his child better than good manners. ~Jaami Tirmidhi ================ Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم said: No servant of اللَّه does an action which protects him most from the punishment of اللَّه except the remembrance of اللَّه. (Ibn Maajah,Tirmithi,Muwatta imaam Maalik) ================ Reported by Haritha bin Wahb (رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنه ): I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “Shall I tell you of the people of Paradise? O OUR CHERISHER, we may be sinful; yes, O ALLAH, we may be extremely sinful, but O ALLAH, we are YOUR servants. We are YOUR slaves ... ... O OUR MOST BELOVED ALLAH, whether we go east or west, whether we go north or south, whether we go deep down in the oceans or above the heavens, it is all YOUR Kingdom... ... O OUR MOST MERCIFUL ALLAH, we are repeatedly asking and begging of YOU, for there is no other door except YOUR door ... ... O ALLAH, dont turn away YOUR glance of Mercy because of our sins, if u turn away YOUR Mercy, there is nothing for us but destruction in this world,destruction in the Qabr and destruction in the Aakhirah... ... O ALLAH, we beseech YOU, to forgive every sin of ours, no matter how big or small, O OUR ALLAH, guide us on Siraatul Mustaqeem, cleanse us with piety and grant us forgiveness in this life, in the Qabr and the Aakhirah ... ...
