●Martyrs of July 13 laid sacrifices for Islam and Azadi. ●Their mission is unaccomplished till the dawn of freedom ● Srinagar: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir pays glowing tributes to the 21 or more people who were martyred on July 13, 1931 by the Dogra army. Jama’at believes that these martyrs sacrificed their lives for supremacy ofIslam and freedom from foreign occupation and the present phase of the movement is only continuation of their mission. Their mission will remain unaccomplished till Kashmir issue is resolved according to the aspirationsof the people of Kashmir. The great protests of July 1931 erupted after news about the desecration of the Holy Quran by Dogra soldiers in Jammu spread. The massacre of July 13, outside Central Jail Srinagar, when people were demanding release of Abdul Qadir, who was arrested after making a speech at Khankah-i-Maula against the desecration of the holy Qur’an and the oppression of Dogra rule, gave boost to Kashmir’s freedom movement. But unfortunately, the leaders of that movement converted the great sacrifices rendered by people into petty personal gains by converting Muslim Conference into National Conference to ingratiate likes of Nehru and Gandhi in Indian National Congress and as a result Kashmir continues to be enslaved. Jama’at believes that the people at the helm of affairs who place wreathson the graves of these martyrs in stage managed official functions on July 13 are the ones who actually hinder the realization of their unaccomplished mission. Jama’at believes that the mission of July 13, 1931 martyrs remains unaccomplished till Kashmir gets freedom as per the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. Besides the martyrs of July 13, 1931, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmiralso pays glowing tributes to all those who were martyred in Kashmirduring the course of ongoing freedom struggle. ☆mEEr☆
