Maru Karate Kai Teacher of the Year 2014 Nominations ...and the nominees are! After the parents and associates have nominated we now have a shortlist of FIVE teachers who are up for the award. The public vote will be going live NOW. Below is a little bit more about each of the nominees! Please feel free to vote for the teacher that YOU would like to see win the Teacher of the Year 2014. = Raphael Ferris-kyoshi - Ferris-kyoshi visited us in September 2014 for the Karate-Dō Shindō-Ryū 30th Anniversary Course. He was widely praised as being fantastic with those who trained with him and he received several nominations for the award. James Waddoups-tasshi was nominated for his work teaching the kids at the Anniversary course, as well as Maru Karate Kais visit to the Inyo Karate Kai dojo this year. Anthony Cox-hanshi is a former three time winner of the clubs Teacher of the Year Award (despite never having taught at our club???) and last year was the first time that he did not win the coveted award. Could this be the year that he reclaims the award? Owen Farrant-tasshi runs Kuro Mizu Kai and this year received a nomination for the ActiveBraintree Sports Awards due to his work with the club. Maru visited his dojo this year and he ran very enjoyable sessions at the anniversary course. Marc Grayston-kyoshi is also nominated. Last years winner, he is also an Olympic Torchbearer (though he doesnt mention it very much) and has won various awards in the community. He also puts up with 64 students a week, many of whom are bozos and bumheads. To place your vote, please click on the link below: easypolls.net/poll.html?p=5443a02ee4b0e6fe7d54c8c7
