Marvel Music And Hollywood Records Marvels Guardians Of The Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 Soundtrack Is Certified Gold Share with LinkedIn BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eight weeks after its release, Marvel Music and Hollywood Records Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Vol. 1 soundtrack has certified Gold, selling over 500,000 copies. The album was the second chart-topping soundtrack of 2014 and was No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in its second and third weeks of release, for the weeks ending Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. The album also peaked at No. 1 on iTunes in 60 territories. Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy film has earned over $630 million worldwide and recently passed the $300 million mark at both the domestic and international box offices. Guardians of the Galaxy opened domestically August 1 with $94.3 million to become the biggest August debut of all time and ultimately the biggest August release ever; its also the highest grossing film of the year and the first to surpass $300 million in 2014. After becoming the 10th straight Marvel Studios film to open at #1, Guardians of the Galaxy occupied the top spot domestically for four of its first six weekends in release. Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy, which first appeared in comic books in Marvel Super-Heroes, Issue #18 (Jan. 1969), stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C.
