Marvin Gaye made Inner City Blues in 1971. The song is about the social situation in the ghetto. We are in 2014, we are still facing the same situations but now we got a Black president, we can say that people of color are better off now than before as individuals. We all can move on up as individuals but the poor-working class as a social group can never improve under the Capitalism (a system where one class, the rich, exploits the other, the proletariat). To liberated themselves from the bondage that they find themselves in, they must abolish the Capitalist state. Building an independent movement lead by the poor-working class, separate from the Democrats and Republicans, and uniting the struggles is a good start towards eliminating inequality and discrimination of gender, race, and class. https://youtube/watch?v=57Ykv1D0qEE
