Marxism may have some validity, but most of the Marxists that have shown up here don’t do his ideas any favors. Why? Here are some of the main things I’ve learned about Marxists. Marxists appear to share many characteristics of cultists. 1. Marxism appeals to the young hot headed, petulant and tantrum throwing. 2. The Marxists have tons of latent hostility. Dont ask me why. 3. They typically over generalize. 4. They seem fanatic in their beliefs. 5. They have nearly unshakable prejudices. 6. They cannot use logic to any extent. 7. Their argument techniques depend on lies, splitting hairs, and the routine use of fallacies especially including straw man arguments. 8. They have almost no ability to engage in discussion in a civil manner. 9.The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. 10. The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as inviolable law. 11. Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged and even punished with attempted bullying. 12. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status or intellectual prowess for itself, its leader(s) and members For example, the leader is considered a Messiah of sorts and they’re on a special mission to save humanity. 13. The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society. 14. The cultists attempt to induce feelings of shame and inferiority in order to influence and control others. Bullying tactics are often used. 15. They tend to speak in a sort of code with words and phrases whose meaning is exclusively theirs, and ridicule those who are not privy to the deep mysteries and “insiders” meaning. Often these terms are not consistent with common use or historical accuracy.
