Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band is a new film about the life of Mary Lou Williams, in her own words and about what it took to succeed in a world where society had already defined your role for you. The filmmakers have launched an Indiegogo crowd funding campaign. Terri Lyne Carrington, Esperanza Spalding, Carmen Lundy, Wycliffe Gordon, Geri Allen, are some of of the artists who contributed to the project, and Alfre Woodard is the narrated voice of Mary Lou Williams Mary Lou Williams once said: #Jazz is love.
