Mary Lundberg Options for this story wsvn/features/articles/carmelcase/MI99030/ I am just not a fan of rescues taking owned dogs when thousands of unowned dogs are dying in their local shelters every year... they could have offered the owners help and education and taken in two other dogs into their rescue who are on death row instead. I think people who take owned dogs and the tell the owners it will cost high amounts of money to get them back is really sounding like extortion.. if nothing else, it makes rescuers look like assholes. I know of many rescues who would have done things differently.
