Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) was known among her people - TopicsExpress

Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) was known among her people to be very pure and chaste. The angels even told her: Oh Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds. (3:42). However, when she came back to town with baby Eesa (upon him be peace), her town alleged the complete opposite and called her unchaste. The same happened to Muhammad (may Allahs peace and blessings be upon him). Before prophethood, he was known among his people as As-Sadiq Al-Ameen, The Truthful & The Trustworthy. However, after becoming a Prophet and going on Isra wal Miraj, his people accused him of being a liar and a madman. The lesson we learn from this is that we may be tested by untrue allegations about ourselves. People may claim us to be the opposite of who we truly are. Just like the noble ones before us, we must be patient, know the truth will prevail, and strive for Allahs happiness alone. - Imam Mahmood Abdel-Hady (Maryum Islamic Center) Khutbah at Dar-us-Salaam // December 5, 2014
