Maryland State Humanities Council hosts a series called Standing Together, and the first of the series is set to take place on Mon. Nov. 10, at the University of Baltmore, beginning at 7 p.m.. More here: mdhc.org/programs/veterans-programs/ And this is the info about the Nov. 10 event: Join the Bob Parsons Veterans Center, Spotlight UB, and the Maryland Humanities Council for an evening of readings by veterans, some self-written, exploring soldiers’ experiences. From Korean War to Iraq War veterans, both fiction and non-fiction literary works examine the life of our armed forces, including diversity in the military, the experience of war, and the return to civilian life. Audience members will then engage in facilitated and meaningful discussion about veterans’ issues. Refreshments provided. FREE.
