Marzipan bakeries in Jerusalem are famous for their doughy sweet chocolate rugelach. The first place many return tourists to Jerusalem stop for a bite is Marzipan Bakery, whose gooey chocolate rugelach are famous far and wide. Marzipan offers lots of other sweet treats too, of course. But it was probably this well-known specialty item that helped it grow from one stall in the Machane Yehuda marketplace to two, in addition to branches in Jerusalem’s German Colony and Old City.
