Masao Masao Dr. Sanjeev Pathak by now u guys might have realized that my first book is a myriad of ...well almost everything I could come up with... so Nita Balakrishnan another section ... Toddy is far better than opium and the Indian sub-continent contributes over ninety percent of the global harvest. Afghanistan leads the pack by miles and accounts for about eighty-five percent. With one of the lowest levels of literacy in the world it beats only Burkina Faso, Mali, and Chad, and not by much either. Poverty is pervasive and you can smell it, even on TV. Westerners may not know this smell, but I have seen and smelled such poverty in India. The odor is rancid and hard to describe, but is a strong combination of sweaty unwashed bodies, dirty clothes, rotting garbage, feces, heat, and dust. The houses and roads, predominantly of mud appear almost surreal, from a forgotten time in the past. Even those ancient Indus valley civilizations of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa dating 2500 BCE seem modern and efficient in comparison. It beats all human comprehension how people survive those bitterly cold winters and in relation, the 105° plus summers may be a bake-walk.
