Mascalls School posts record A level results. Students and Staff at Mascalls celebrate today as the school posts record A Level results with exam results improving in every category. More than half of the A2 students achieved the top grades of A*, A and B contributing to an overall pass rate of 99.1%. AS results are also up this year for the school with those getting top grades almost doubling last year’s efforts. Headteacher, Stuart Reeves said, ‘We are absolutely delighted with these results, especially in a year when there has been a fall in grades nationally. The overall pass rate has gone down across the country for the first time in 30 years yet ours has gone up. This is due to the sheer hard work and determination of both students and staff. I congratulate each and every one of them.’ Head of Sixth Form, Claire Shaw-Kew said her team will be busy today confirming University places and helping a handful of students who narrowly missed a grade to get a place. The school is confident that it can get students to where they want to be. Stand out performances at A2 were seen from Emma Boxall (3x A*), Tim Brewer (2 x A* 1 x A), Katie Allen (2 x A* 1 x A), Cat Allan (3 x A* 1 x A) And at AS from Adam Johnson (4 x A), Claire Thompson (4 x A), Jordan Hurford (3 x A, 1 x B), Yavinka Mendis (2 x A, 2 x B), Hazel Low (2 x A, 2 x B).
