Masjid-e-Ali Statement regarding attack on shrine of Bibi Zainab - TopicsExpress

Masjid-e-Ali Statement regarding attack on shrine of Bibi Zainab (SA) Masjid-e-Ali strongly condemns the heinous attack and desecration of the shrine of Bibi Zainab (SA). The attack took place on Friday 19th July leading to the martyrdom of the respected custodian of the shrine and some damage to the shrine. Bibi Zainab (SA) the granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is renowned for her courage and bravery for standing up to the ruthless oppression of Yazid (LA) after the massacre of the Prophets family on the plains of Karbala. Bibi Zainab (SA) is revered by Muslims all around the world and millions pay their respects at her shrine in Damascus Syria. Al-Qaeda backed terrorists however are bent on the destruction of this holy shrine (and others) to further stoke the flames of the increasingly sectarian civil war in Syria. Takfiri terrorist attackers have spared no efforts in the continuation of their disrespect of the family and companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Their recent atrocities have included the destruction of the tombs of Hazrat Hajar ibn-e-Addi and Hazrat Jafar-e-Tayyar; both were respected companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Their other barbaric endeavours have included the massacring and beheading of innocent civilians; whilst their cannibalistic tendencies have been well documented. This latest attack will undoubtedly have wide repercussions not only for the Middle East but across the Muslim world. The Syrian people rightfully reject the nefarious aims of the global jihadists and their pursuit of an exclusionist, Takfiri caliphate in which only they and their ilk will be free to practice their beliefs. Masjid-e-Ali calls upon all peace loving people to protest against the desecration of the holy sites in Syria and to raise their voice for an urgent negotiated resolution to the Syrian crisis. We wish to see a Syria in which the rights and freedoms of all communities are respected.
