Masjids of Bangalore Source: Prajavani Archives Sangeen jamia Masjid in Taramandalpet is said to be the oldest mosque in Bangalore. It was built in the Mughal era by one Khilledar with the instructions of one Khasimkhan. This Masjid was damaged in the third Anglo-Mysore war and was renovated in 1836 by Moinuddin Mekhri. Now it has been completely rebuilt. The Masjid in Old-Poor house road in Shivaji nagar is the oldest mosque in cantonment area. It was built by Haji Abdul Kuddus and most of the material which went in building this mosque was brought from Srirangapatnas mosque. Bademakan Masjid in Siddaiah Road behind Al Ameen college was built during Haidars reign. Two Sufi saints from Bijapur built this mosque and their DArgahs are nearby. The masjid in Frazer town was built by Haji Ismail Sait. Sir Mirzas family contributed towards building the Shia mosque near Johnson market on Hosur Road. The Masjid near Vijaya College near Basavanagudi was built in 1920. There is a masjid which belongs to Tipu Sultans time on Broadway Road. Near that MAsjid the Dargah of 19th century saint Moinuddin Khadri known as Kambalposh saint.
