Mass Baby Birds Dying Baby birds are dying in record numbers since 2011 in the Atlantic on Iceland... just like whats happening in the Pacific Ocean! Must be connected? no researcher or scientist knows why because they are not allowed to mention radiation. National geographic (picture) has done a great job downplaying this, not mentioning anything about radiation from Fukushima, they blame it on everything els but. They beat around the bush on the FACTS like the mortality rate of the baby birds have spiked since 2011! they say mortality over 15 years has increased. Some things they did mention: (for the full article see the link below) Sea cliffs are breeding grounds for 23 species of Atlantic seabirds, hosting an indispensable share of Atlantic puffins, black murres, razorbills, great skuas, northern fulmars, and black-legged kittiwakes. But the nests have gone empty in the past few years, and colonies throughout the North Atlantic are shrinking. And in the Arctic tern colonies shes studied, there are just dead chicks everywhere, she said. Not only do you have to provide your field assistants with food and shelter, but also some psychological help after many, many days of collecting dead chicks. And on the Westman Islands off Icelands south coast—home to the worlds largest Atlantic puffin colony—breeding has been a total failure Normally, there would be hundreds of birds here, the ornithologist says. Now, there may be a few chicks. But they probably wont make it. Petersens been coming to this island to count and band birds for 41 years. Some summers, he and his colleagues have banded 800 fat, gray Arctic tern chicks. This year, he says, weve done five so far. Now researchers are struggling to comprehend the catastrophic breeding failure and its implications for an ecosystem that is fundamental to the planets health. The Puffin are the canary in the coal mine and they are dying like flies, get ready for the big bang, were next and if you didnt cry for the other species, dont expect them to laments our passing either, dont worry, they wont, we will have wiped almost every species out anyway..
