Mass was wonderful this past Sunday. There were many people there even taking into account that World Youth Day was going on at the same time. Please continue coming to the 5:00pm mass. We have 4 left and I just want to make it the best 4 masses we ever had. Lets be positive and use these last 4 as opportunities to pray and be together to praise God with a contemporary flare. If you noticed, I was using the keyboard instead of the piano this Sunday. I finally got it repaired and wanted to use it like we used to...just like old times. Also, the Lamb of God we sang is the old one we used to use in the old church! That Lamb of God brings great memories of powerful worship in the old, small, quaint church where we worshiped for years with band members like Kayla Lewis, Tanya and Tracy, and Ed Daigle. I remember practicing in the old youth house that is now a graphic designs place. Those were great days and I have a lot of fond memories of all the people that have passed through the band over the years. In those days, Life Teen just was getting off the ground and we were all learning as we go. Fr. K had great vision for our church and he used to say to me, Fernando your music is not my cup of tea but it seems to be working. I remember him visiting us during practice on his bicycle. We were all excited to see him and he joked with us and we with him. Remember the priest with the white beard that used to wear all the weird hats. I think there is a picture of him somewhere with a kiddie firemans hat with the kids at Rosaryville. He was not with us long but he was so funny and loved the kids to death. I just cant remember his name. He was always walking down Ponchatoula especially when we had a parade or event. I also remember the Eastern European priest in the old church. he was very tall. He was a real character. Unbelievable how all these memories are coming back. If anyone can remember the names, let me know? The one thing I cant even believe is how we fit the entire band in that small corner in the front of the old church without falling over each other. But we did it and we managed well. If anyone has any memories of the old church or anything in the last 13 years, please respond and post it. Im sure there is a lot more than I can ever dream of remembering.
