Massage from Nelson multicultural council: Dear Member, Were you born outside of New Zealand? Would you like to know more about Maori and why they have special status in New Zealand? Would you like to know more about this country’s history in general and the Treaty of Waitangi in particular? If your answer is YES, then you will be very interested in coming along to learn all about it on Saturday, 22nd March, 9am – 4pm at the Centre for Human Potential, 319 Hardy Street, opposite the main entrance of NMIT. You can read more about it on our website: nelsonmulticultural.co.nz/UPCOMING+EVENTS/Treaty+of+Waitangi+education+for+migrants.html This educational workshop has been especially designed by Dr. Ingrid Huygens, for migrants and people whose first language is not English. (In fact it has been translated into other languages!) If you would like to become trained so that you can teach others about this important topic, there will be additional “training for trainers” on the Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th March. It is our plan to have a group of people qualified to deliver this education to “new New Zealanders” on a regular basis. The cost is $25, payable to Nelson Multicultural Council. Payments can be made by cheque or internet banking with the reference “treaty workshop”. Our bank account is with SBS and is 031355 0590251 00 If you wish to attend, please email or phone Evey McAuliffe at 03 5390030, [email protected]
