Massive can o worms time: Id appreciate everyone to give your opinions if you would. below i make statements, theyre general and i dont necessarily believe them at this time. Romans 13:1-7 Submission to Governing Authorities 1Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. I am starting to look into this more, right now from what i have gathered so far: 1. it appears to be sin to speak out jokingly, angrily, defiantly, with mocking intent, (memes, FB postings, protests or otherwise) or in ANY WAY against government, no matter how evil they are, no matter how wicked they become, whatever tyranny, oppression or abuse they carry out on their citizens, how ever much they defy the constitutions and principles of the country they are representing and that you are a resident in. 2. As Christians, if we were living in 1940s Germany, we would have to sit back and let the Nazi government take our friends and neighbor Jews (poles, Gypsies, handicapped, etc) away to be gassed, slaughtered, butchered, experimented on in every inhumane way possible because we are not to speak out against government at all... this would go for the governments of Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Lennon, Hitler, Amein, etc, etc, ad naseum, as well. 3. The founding fathers in America committed heresy and evil in their writings and actions by committing open rebellion against God by attacking our previous government and killing agents of it. They acted against God and his word and are therefore examples of evil and rebellion against God and not virtue and justice against tyranny. Of course generations for 235 years have gotten to enjoy the fruits of their evil rebellion... 4, the only time a Christian can and should be disobedient to government is when government requires or demands a Christian to do something that is contrary to the will of God and His word.
