Master Lu taking traditional Chinese culture onto the world stage 2013-02-11 A gem treasured by world heritage and the finest representation of humanity, Chinese culture has over 5000 years of profound history, bringing great value to the posterity. It has been well respected and promoted by countries around the world, making a global impact. A Buddhist Master lives in Sydney, Australia. He is a well-known leader of the Chinese community and the media sector, as well as the founder and President of 2OR Australia Oriental Radio. He promotes Chinese culture through modern broadcasting technologies, including the radio and Internet. Master Lu now has over 3000 disciples from Chinese and other cultural backgrounds. Amongst the disciples, there are entrepreneurs, public servants, scholars and professors, and others. There are also several dozen abbots and venerable masters from Buddhist monasteries who have become Master Lu’s students. During the trip to North America, Master Lu was praised by Venerable Kuan Hsien, the abbot from the Thousand Buddha Temple who is over 80 years of age, as a “true Living Buddha”. Dr Linda Barnes, a medical anthropologist and a scholar in the study of world religions, and an Associate Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine, is including materials of Master Lu’s Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door in related publications and in her course curriculum. The world-renowned specialist in HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases, Dr Stephen Hosea is also practising under Master Lu’s teachings. He is one of the administrators of the not-for-profit organisation in North America established for Guan Yin Citta. Other administrators of this not-for-profit organisation are professionals and scholars. There were also other world-renowned medical professionals and well-known members of parliament in New Zealand who dedicated themselves to volunteering at Master Lu’s grand Dharma functions.
