Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me Luke 12:13 The Balance Sheet At the end of my previous post I said Jesus took stock of himself and asked his disciples in Luke 9:18 Whom say the people that I am? Were the answers he got from the people accurate? Not a single one was correct and here I explore why? Romans 14:12 says, ...every one of us shall give account of himself to God. The aim in giving an account isnt to judging and condemning self but is making a presentation that reflects the true status quo of your life. James 4:3 says, Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss... One of the reasons you prepare accounts is to put you in a position you should able to tell or communicate what has been learned with, even God. On an earlier post I said God sees everyone as if were real accounting professionals. Accounting is something which affects everyone - business people non-business people alike. By now I think you agree with me that everyone need to plan or budget the financial status of their own lives and also be able to draw up a balance sheet of everything that affects them. It should not be left out for God or nature to do so on your behalf. Its never Gods responsibility to create your own balance sheet or neither is it Jesus or the Churchs duty. Other people may do so but their judgement wont be a true reflection or typical representation of who youre. The reason is simple, because theyve also to create their own balance sheets, and in the case of God, most of his gifts are a liability because he offers talents to you sometimes on a loan basis which youve to payback with interest. How? for example in tithes and offerings. To show you that youve to balance your own books Luke 12:13-14 says, ...one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? This means everyone should be able to prepare their own balance sheet. As you look at 2014 you should be able to take stock of your life and make a correct statement for yourself, spirit, soul and body. 2015 for you should be a game changer; let it be a year everything shows up to your correct position, a year when everything balances. Only you should make effort to make it balance. When you look back to 2014 would you be able to draw yourself a Balance Sheet? Try now to make a list of the things you think are your own assets and their values, and a list of those you think were liabilities and their values. When you finish doing that you wouldve created for yourself a balance sheet and looking at it should itself exactly tell you who youre, what you owed and lost and what youre worthy. When Jesus asked, Whom say the people that I am? Luke 9:18 Here he looked for a form of statement that would put all assets and liabilities together. To say he was John the Baptist, Elias or one of the old prophets wasnt all encompassing truth of who he is. It means some couldve found an excuse not to follow him. So in search for an answer that would balance, he turned to his disciples and asked, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.Luke 9:20 The Christ of God equals all your equities and Liabilities. No matter the liability Christ by his own life is able to pay all your debt. On the other hand Jesus is Lord of all; he cannot be own by any individual group of people, sect or religion - But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
