Mastering your mornings. Believe it or not,Satan contends with us during our mornings than he does any other time of the day.Studies show that what we do with our minds during the first 15 minutes of the day determines our mental and emotional disposition for the day.As believers,sometimes you wake up in joy and thanksgiving,expecting to be blessed,as if the Holy Spirit slept right next to you.This is what happens when your spirit wakes up before your mind.Thats why you didnt have to think happy thoughts to get there.You woke up already there.But every morning isnt like this,even though the matured believer experiences more of these than most.Satan hates these mornings.The mornings he likes are the ones when the mind wakes up before the spirit,because that gives him opportunity.On these mornings,you wake up and the trumpets arent there.You feel blank.Neither here nor there.If you dont purposely exercise your mind to wake up your spirit,your mind can drift towards the inclinations of the flesh.Youll start thinking about everything on your plate and feel overwhelmed.The flesh will have your mind on whats due,who tried you,dont like you or what you dont have.The flesh will have you worrying about stuff that has nothing to do with today.Satan works through the flesh to try to ruin your day.A victorious day for you is a victorious day for the Lord. Satan loves to get you into lusting as early in the morning as possible and stir up desires and longings,so he can set you up with a temptation(that phone call or text didnt just come out of nowhere).Wake up your spirit by thinking about how good God has been to you.Every body didnt wake up this morning,but yet you did.Think about what He brought you out of and where you could have and would have been without Him.Think about He has been better to you than you have been to yourself.Thinking on the goodness of the Lord will eventually wake up your spirit.You dont stop until you here a hallelujah inside of you...that means your spirit up and ready to keep your mind against whatever comes your way today. And the devil is mad again.Jamming good throw down church music stimulates the emotions and make you feel good,but you must actively engage your mind to wake up your spirit.
