Mat jaayiye...., she shouted in her frail voice, helplessly from inside the house, sitting in her wheelchair. The old man was not listening and instead was moving forward as though in a mission. He went outside the door, stood in the front yard and looked up with his right palm held above his eyebrow levels, as a shade or maybe to help him focus. Idhar aayiye, aise baahar mat jaayiye.... beta aur bahu ab office se aayenge, mat jaayiye baahar..., she was almost screaming, horrified. He slowly came back inside, went behind her wheelchair and started to push it from behind as the wheels reluctantly rolled. Kya kar rahe hain aap? Kidhar leke chal rahe hain?, she craned her neck and twisted it to look at him, but he was looking ahead and moving, determined. As soon as they came out, into the front yard, the skies opened up, and they were getting drenched. The old man moved in front of his ailing wife and started to dance slowly, in the rain. #monsoonmusings Kishore
