Match Report: Blackpool Sunday 11th August 2013 Check out the Sunday La Liga & Sunday 6s Night League Tables @ playfootball.net/blackpool/players_lounge Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Real Mallorca 19 v 8 Malaga Top Scorer: Danny Craggs (Real Mallorca) (7) M.O.M: Danny Craggs (Real Mallorca) With their sights set on top spot Real Mallorca need to pick up every point they can, so when they cam up against 7th they knew they had to take their opportunity and they did so well. MOM Danny Craggs was the backbone of the team as he was scored 7 great goals tearing Malaga apart. Malaga need to tighten up at the back if they don’t want this to carry on in future. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Espanyol 10 v 20 Athletico Madrid Top Scorer: Steve Broom (Athletico Madrid) (9) M.O.M James Hebbs (Athletico Madrid) 3rd placed Athletico Madrid played against a struggling Espanyol who were in 9th and it was Athletico Madrid who were the better team scoring 20 goals, most of which there wasn’t anyone to blame, it was just the fact that Athletico are a force going forward, its no surprise that the scoring is so high when they have the likes of Steve Broom and James Hebbs in the line up. Steve Brooms ability to find the net is second to none and James Hebbs overall attacking play is a great sight to see. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Real Sociedad 26 v 2 Barcelona Top Scorer: Andy Graham (Real Sociedad) (7) M.O.M Michael ‘Monty’ Robinson (Real Sociedad) When top of the table play against bottom you should always be ready for a shock result in the off chance that the underdog pulls something special out of the bag, unfortunately Barcelona couldn’t deliver such a feat and found themselves picking the ball out of the net with no intervals, constant attacking from Real Sociedad pushed Barcelona’s backs against the wall and they couldn’t push back, Andy Graham scored 7 of the 26 and was the centre of every attack, all moves went through him and he dominated the play, but it was Sociedad’s man between the sticks Michael Robinson, better known as Monty who got the MOM for his great saving ability, Sociedad could have left the game with more than 2 goals if it wasn’t for him. Its no surprise they’ve conceded the least number of goals in the league this season with him in goal, Real Sociedad are going to have to watch their heels if they don’t want to be caught up Mallorca, a few more performances like this and the title should be theirs. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Sevilla 9 v 11 Osasuna Top Scorer: Connor Howe (Sevilla C.F) (5) M.O.M Joe Cornell (Osasuna) 5th placed Osasuna took on 8th placed Sevilla in this one and it proved to be a close game which saw Osasuna claim all 3 points, Sevilla may think they deserved at least a point or even the whole 3 as Connor Howe put in a great shift proving to be a goal machine, he is going to have to keep this up in the future as he has proved he can do this against a strong opposition, Joe Cornell is the reason why Sevilla didn’t walk away winners as he was involved in most of Osasuna’s goals, starting from the back and being the man on the ball for most of the game as he was comfortable with it at his feet and pulled of some great inventive play that others may consider optimistic but Joe had the ability to pull it off and make it look easy. Sunday Night 6’s League White Eagle VI 8 v 1 Colonel Getafe Top Scorer: Sebastian Strzempa (White Eagle) (3) M.O.M Sebastian Strzempa (White Eagle) Top of the league White Eagle played against 6th placed Colonel Getafe in this one and as expected White Eagle were the victors, their stamina has to be one of the traits they possess that other teams cant anticipate, they run their opponents into the ground and give it 100% every game, hence why they have a 100% record this season winning 4 from 4. Sebastian Strzempa’[s hat tick put him on 14 goals for the season and makes him a player other teams will need to be weary of in the future as there is no doubt he knows how to find the net and will do so time and time again. He was the MOM in this game as he simply ran the show and made himself impossible to be kept on top of, a brilliant game from him. Sunday Night 6’s League Parfitt FC 2 v 3 Tekkerslovakia Top Scorer: D.Gill (Tekkerslovakia) (2) M.O.M D.Gill (Tekkerslovakia) New boys Parfitt tried their luck against Tekkerslovakia in this game, and it was closely contested as it finished 3-2, a very low scoring game. The only reason any goals were scored this match was because D.Gill was on the pitch and refused to let his team lose to the newcomers and not put up a fight, he bagged 2 goals and ran himself into the ground in a performance that saw him stand out from the crowd and deservedly come out with as MOM. Parfitt will be looking to their next game and can feel positive as they gave a good performance on their debut.
