Match Report West Regional Cup - Round 2 Eastwood Juveniles 1998 Sat 18 Jan, 2014 0 V 6 Star player: Calum Jackson Harmony Row Previous matchNext match ReportTeamPhotosVideos OUT BUT UNBOWEDEastwood Juveniles were knocked out of the West Regional Cup when they lost 6 - 0 to an excellent Harmony Row side. However Eastwood can take a lot of positives from a creditable performance against the PJ & D YFL Division 1 league leaders. Harmony Row took control from the kick off as they stretched the Eastwood defence. The opening goal came after 5 minutes when some hesitancy in the Eastwood defence allowed Harmony Row a shot from close range that left keeper Calum Jackson with no chance.Harmony Row continued to dominate most of the possession but Eastwood competed well. The home sides rhythm was broken by a number of enforced substitutions when Steven Allan, Jamie Dolan and Kieran Fitzpatrick all suffered first half injuries.Eastwoods best chance of the first half came on 35 minutes when Tommy Duffy set up Paul Whyte but unfortunately Paul couldnt get enough power on his shot to trouble the visiting keeper. Harmony Row doubled their lead 2 minutes later with a goal the Eastwood defence will feel they could have prevented. ( HT 0 - 2 )The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Eastwood having to work hard to keep Harmony Row at bay. Three goals in quick succession - 51 minutes, 56 minutes and 61 minutes - wrapped up the match for Harmony Row.The sixth goal of the match came on 75 minutes. Eastwoods best effort of the second half came with 2 minutes remaing when Josh Jess intercepted a rare mis-placed pass from Harmony Row before firing in a shot that the visiting keeper saved well.( FT 0 - 6 ) COACHES COMMENTS We started off well and pressed Harmony Row from the start , made if very difficult for them and unfortunately losing 2 soft goals . 3 substitutions in the 1st 30 mins due to ankle injuries and having to take William from Midfield due to a thigh strain didnt help . However the result didnt matter as were expected to be beaten but 2 poor offside goals certainly didnt help our cause , that said the result didnt reflect the game on the day against probably the best under 16 team in the west of Scotland and we actually PLAYED BETTER than we did against Port Glasgow last week ! Some of our players wouldnt look out of place in their team . Treatment table will be full this week , Fitzys out for 6 - 8 weeks with Torn ligaments , Steven and Jamie have ankle knocks , but with the return of Jack , Ryan and hopefully Willport back from Injury and Luke getting 80 mins in ,then squad should remain strong . Kieran OD , Josh Jess, Matt Murphy and Tommy Duffy pushed for MOTM. However I think Calum Jackson gets the nod.
