Match Two Women (Fiji vs New Zealand Presidents) The New Zealanders came out hard and managed to score their first goal very early in the first half. The Fiji defense held the fort for a long as they could, but the much more skillful New Zealand team gave us a run around and ended the first half with a 4-0 lead at half time. Coach Alison Southey spoke to the women at half time and told us to keep our composure, stand our ground and not get overwhelmed. The women went back on at half time more fierce and determined to play hard. We had our chances in the second half and managed to reach the New Zealand dee a few times, but we were unable to convert those opportunities. The defense yet again, fought hard in the second half and managed to hold the New Zealanders off during the short corners. The New Zealand side came back harder and put in another 5 goals to end the game with a 9-0 Win over the younger Fiji Side. The ladies played their heart out and never gave up or lost hope till the end. A hard fought game! Coach Alison Southey was happy with the girls performance, the score could have been better, but we will take the loss, and learn from our mistakes.
