Match report prems 2014/2015 Sometime games don’t go your way.... The Gentlemen vs Benidorm Final score 5-3 The Gentlemen vs Feed the Goat Final score 0-9 Today was a big day not only for the Gentlemen as they had a theoretical chance to win the league but also for Beale, Feed the Goat and Beechwood to keep every thing alive. The day started of with Benidorm vs Beale Madrid, Benidorm up front the whole game and Jack Bridgeman scoring three (I think Nathan spoke about ‘A young Alan Shearer...’). Luke Nicolls scored a goal tapping the ball across his front foot and scored and he won the game by an incredible chip to keep the hopes alive. Ending up 3 vs 3 outfield as Jack Bridgeman got injured but what an incredible game.. congrats to both teams for enjoyments of the crowd. Final score 7-6 Beale Madrid. Next up the ultimate relegation match, Team Rocket without Captain Ed No against Sweet Caroline FC. Tight game again.. Rocket 2-0 up but still struggeling but winning 2-1 in the end, Well played and as I said earlier, I hope you guys stay up as you can pick it up with team play the second term. Then there was our first game, first of all we should have a full squad and we did not have that.. Abner was in A&E as one of the young lads of Plymouth Argyle had a kick in the face and lost both of his teeth. Hope he’s allright and Abs, just say to him the toughts of the Gentleman are with him. So no Abner, Luis was supposed not to be there but he showed up for the second game. I have no clue what was going on with Ollie Gould but where equal now in not showing up for a game when you should have been..;-) Then there were two legends making their return on the pitch today, Dan Shilcof and Asley Dodds (Doddsy), both became champions in the past in the Campbell era and are good players. As we taught we had enough we sorted Dan S to play for Benidorm so they did not have to concede their game with Jack injured. That wasn’t the best decision of the day as we where ending up with 5 players as well. But to be honest we played excellent futsal with just a couple moments of unawareness in defense. They scored a tap in from a corner (...) Dan Gore commentated afterwards ‘I don’t know what happened but he played around my blocking foot’. To fair it cannot happen but if you Captain says that I know it was a very good tap in. I Think it was Nathan Gornall. After an incredible wrong kick in from Dan Cooke (what where you thinking?) the ball felt for Dan S and he scored as well hitting it full on right bottom corner.. Well played. And an unlucky goal against, I think it was Jack Cresswell. Afterwards the Gentlemen start picking the pace basically played around with Benidorm and we scored a couple incredible goals. With excellent outfield play to be fair, some teams were watching us and we played incredible, including myself during this game. Ending up in a 5-3 victory but with Luis and Abner and Dan S in it would be a massacre, Its basically what happened against Feed the Goat. Now it was just knackering to be fair. Afterwards Dan Gore, Dan shilcoff and Ashleigh Dodds went up to the stand to enjoy our tradition. Didn’t met our ringers to be fair, but both are incredible characters. Insulting the Wags from Beale and apologising as well. Screaming for Luis when he arrived unexpectedly to play. Talking about nonsense. Thats how we role..;-) But ladies Dan Shilcoff is almost taken I heared so you have to be quick to mess that up. Basically there was a game going on which was according to some people, Do I hear Richard Smith somewhere?? Which supposed to be game of the week. After the win against Benidorm Beale let to a second victory of the day. As you can imagine I was waiting for what supposed to be my game of the week.. Beale drew, in a good match to be fair with 2-2.. Beechwood almost out of title race as well. Then the game which should have been my game came up. Jack-Irwin Smith commentated afterwards:’I have never seen my lads doing this, ever’ Most of them are in the BUCS but with these kind of performances they can just show up as team. Basically their tactics worked very well. Tight marking on strikers. Block shots and not conceding. If we start scoring we will win, I’m pretty. But now they grew mentally. Basically I led the humiliation in myself by doing a step over with JI running at me and I backheeled the ball by accident to my goal. Didn’t block JI correctly and he scored. 1-0 down after 5 minutes.. straight after a ball slips on a long trow, straight on the chest of Vesey I think it was and he just smashed it right bottom corner. 2-0 down and not even 5 minutes later, a very good run by JI, no one follows, and he gets the pass, scored via the side of my shinpad, just unlucky. I think 3-0 at half time, we were knackered but had believe still. We just didn’t get our goal. Pete Gill saved everything excellent if shots weren’t blocked. Unfortunately, we lost Dan Shilcoff by a vicious foul of Captain JI, he put his finger in Dan’s eye, Dan game over and we didn’t even get a foul.. Unbelieveble, he should have been send off for that one... Second half, Match fitness played a role, all of us had been playing 5 on 5 against Benidorm whitout subs. Feed the Goat actually started to attack us. Ashleigh was running on his last legs, so where Dan Cooke and Dan Gore, It wasn’t the game for Luis (You guys should have seen him last Tuesday when he was playing around with Futsal Campbell, He definitely can play Brazilian Futsal. Ask Captain JI he was there) Jack Vesey was on excellent form to be fair. We gave the shots to them and they took the advantage, He scored two more goals, one bottom down corner and one left top corner which was incredible... and he earned his MOTM. Gavin Scofield scored one, Samir Brahimi had 2, All free shots. And then came the moment of my assist, Ashleigh gets an header against JI, He is 5 inches taller but times wrong and he touches it. In a reflex I saved it but boxing the ball in the runway of Ashleigh. Own goal, which basically summarize the whole game, start like that and finish in the same way. Made plenty of difficult saves, so i shouldn’t be disappointed, But I can’t stand losing, I really hate it. And with playing for La Maquina last year and the second game I’ve played ever, losing 33-0 in 50 minutes, getting 22 behind in 25 min as outfield player, This should be an issue but it still is to be honest. Well played Feed the Goat, if you win it next week, playing like today you’re able to do so. You’ve earned it then.. But get your minds right again. After us, and I was pumped with adrenalin, i was staying in. Quimbledon almost got a result against A-team being 2-1 up for a long time, eventually A-team won 4-2. Well played by all teams today, and what a day it was. Afterwards saw La maquina 2.0 losing 7-4, watched the England game in Su and met up with Dan Luis Abner and Ollie. I told I was going home for a quick sandwich and change. The lads where hiding from me when i got back. Found them eventually. Luis Decided to play a game that we follow eachothers move, I almost got is drink intending to down it so he should get my pint, but I missed it and he let me down it, Good start of the night. After the game the guys went to rest a bit for night out as Ollie invited some friends to come over. The told me: ‘Just wake us up at 9.30’. I went to freshers to listen to some music as I was the only one, I owned the playlist. At 9.45 I was back at the house of Luis. I tought they had been sleeping but everyone was getting drunk basically. Two friends of Ollie came over, two lovely ladies to be fair. And I ended up going home for some food and come out, felt asleep luckily as I was dogtired. Did my shopping this morning, as I was awake at 7... and played for FC FC. Played outfield and now everyone knows how annoying I can be outfield. Ask the refs and Dyslectic United. Gave one assist, should be two, and should have scored at least two. Basically final score 4-2 Everyone have a good week and see you tomorrow at Lipson sports centre as Pinter Milan is playing again or else Saturday. Cheers Goalkeeper The Gentlemen ‘H’
