Mathew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Jesus was not some radical thinker or some kind of revolutionary who got himself killed. He willingly laid down His life. As this verse states, He did not come to rebel against or to change the law. He came in order to be the fulfillment of that law. He was in perfect harmony with the scriptures. Mathew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; The rending of the veil signified that Christ, by his death, opened a way to God. We have an open way through Christ to the throne of grace. Praise God!! We now have direct access to God. Jesus was our intercessor. Jesus is Prophet, Priest, and King. The only man to be all three, and the only who will ever be all three.
