Matt 25:31-40 (NKJV) When the Son of Man comes in His glory, - TopicsExpress

Matt 25:31-40 (NKJV) When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? And the King will answer and say to them, Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. --- These verses are the heart of the Gospel. They tell you who the sheep are that will inherit the kingdom and by not including the goats in the conversation it becomes clear that they are the people who did do kingdom work on earth. What He essentially said to the sheep is these things I am telling you are the things you did that pleased me and they are why you are inheriting the kingdom. The list of things that Jesus liked about the sheep are that they obeyed His command to love one another. Love is shown by meeting the needs of those people whom we come in contact with as we go about our lives. Jesus said if we meet the needs of His people, especially those who are oppressed or persecuted for some reason then that is the same as doing for Him. He loves His children and it breaks His heart to see people with unmet needs when there are people who could have helped but didn’t. Those that didn’t take time to care for and help the needy are goats and will not inherit the kingdom. This is serious business to Jesus, loving others is second only to loving God. So, do you want to know if you are going to inherit the kingdom? Then, feed the hungry, satisfy their thirst, invite them into your house, clothe them, and treat their sickness. These things along with visiting prisoners to cheer them up are examples of how to love your neighbors. This is very serious and to be taken seriously because it is after He comes back for His sheep that He will separate the sheep and the goats. If you failed to do these things then you may not get the inheritance you seek. I am not trying to give a fire and brimstone message, I am only pointing out that this conversation happens after He returns. I take it seriously and hope that you do also.
