Matt Bracken Just got in an early comment on a new WaPo article, its already at the top of all comments most liked. This will get the libs stirred up! Imagine playing a game of Monopoly where the banker could just print up and add as many new $500 bills as he wanted, when he wanted, and the other players had to accept them at face value. Thats been Americas advantage since the Bretton-Woods conference in 1944, but it was based upon the agreement that the USA would convert dollars to gold at a fixed rate when demanded by other countries, insuring that the United States would not merely inflate the dollar to the sky. This agreement was never formally ended, but the free convertibility of the dollar for gold was ended by Nixon in 1971, when the French demanded gold for their dollars and our gold window was closed. Since then the US dollar has been a fiat currency no different than the Soviet Ruble, and the only reason it kept its undeserved status as worlds reserve currency was the fact that we were able to strong-arm the OPEC countries into only accepting dollars for oil contracts. This corrupt system has been unraveling for years, and were now watching the end-game of King Dollar. When this is all resolved the dollar will collapse in value, and the USA will be little more than Argentina with nukes. We all know that the USSR could not remain a superpower as a third world country with a first world military, and soon the same lesson will come home to America. The results are going to shake the world, perhaps starting in November, when we not only may default on our debts (not likely, there is tax income to cover that), but when federal benefit programs go unpaid, perhaps leading to nationwide food riots when the EBT system collapses, and fifty million Americans are suddenly unable to buy groceries with other peoples money.
