Matt & I are having a really tough time with the holidays this year. We are trying to put our happy faces on and enjoy this time for Tessa & Kanes sake (and for our sake), but its super hard. Loading up the kids and traveling to see family should be a joyous occasion, and it is, but the empty seat in our car is nothing compared to the empty place in our hearts and souls. Im sorry to sound sappy and sad when everyone is trying to focus on turkey tomorrow, but I just cant stop crying every time I think about this. I cannot even describe what missing Jude feels like. Think about a time in your life where you really missed someone, and then quadruple that feeling, and then think about how it would feel if you ultimately never saw them again. (and although there is an afterlife, I mean imagine never seeing them again in any kind of dimension that you can now imagine as real, as Heaven or any other place like that is way beyond what we can actually visualize or understand as we are now, as living humans...) Im glad I wrote this. It somehow helps to put it in black and white, in print, and out of my brain for a bit. The burden is on you now. ;-) Happy Thanksgiving to all. Be truly thankful.
