Matteo Guidicelli on Sarah Geronimo being named most beautiful: ‘Siyempre deserving siya’ After competing for the fourth time in the recently held annual Ironman triathlon in Cebu city last weekend, Matteo Guidicelli admitted it was a good but challenging competition this year. “It was very good. Cebu was an amazing place. It was great, everybody was out supporting all the athletes. We had 2,500 athletes this year and my race percentage was okay, it was it was five hours and 28 minutes. The previous year it was five hours 20 but they changed the bike course this year. I wasnt that ready this year but I did my best. Mahirap talaga, masakit pa yung mga legs ko. This was my fourth half Ironman. This was the hardest because I wasnt really ready for it so the run was very painful for me. I was in America for four weeks. We had shows there and when I came back I only had four weeks of preparation for this race,” he shared during the launch of LINE Philippines new Premium Call promotion held at the Makati Shangri-la hotel last August 6. This years competition was also participated in by other actors according to Matteo. “Andun din sila Kuya Kim Atienza, Ryan Agoncillo, Piolo Pascual, and Billy Crawford has joined na rin before. Judy Ann Santos and Ryan are good friends. Ryan trains with us. We just hang out and theyre very cool. Kuya Kim is really quick and very, very strong also, Ryan just did the swim, Piolo just did the bike,” he said. The athlete-turned-actor is gearing up for another triathlon in September which will be held in Bohol. He also shared why he enjoys the sport. “The community in triathlon is very, very positive. You meet nice people, you meet amazing people, the sport gets you very healthy. I think its one of the healthiest sports. Its good cardio and its a very good sport for everybody. The camaraderie with friends and the community is very, very nice,” he added. For his sport, Matteo said he has to make sure his body is taken care of. “Believe it or not I put on a lot of sunblock because sunblock is very, very important to not irritate the skin. And I train outdoors all the time so medyo maitim ako ngayon (laughs) My diet naman basically it really depends on what Im preparing for but on a regular day I try to eat clean food, all natural stuff. But I believe in eating everything in moderation,” he said. After celebrating girlfriend Sarah Geronimos birthday with a low-key celebration with their closest friends, the 24-year-old actor said he is gave Sarah some sports wear even though they have not had time to work out together. “Okay naman, ginagamit naman niya. Sa sarili niyang workout (laughs) Okay naman siya pero busing busy siya ngayon eh. Marami siyang ginagawa. Ayos naman lahat,” he said. The LINE Philippines celebrity endorser considered it a very big compliment to be included in Yes! Magazines recent list of 100 Most Beautiful Celebrities. “Very, very nice. Maraming maraming salamat sa Yes! For including me in the top 100. I feel very, very blessed siyempre youre with amazing people and very beautiful people, its very good,” he shared. With Sarah making it to the top of the list, he could not be a prouder boyfriend. “Siyempre, deserving siya. Siya yung pinakamaganda di ba? Basta ayun. (laughs) Siyempre I was very proud. I always tell her shes beautiful. She doesnt believe me but the whole country is telling her now so she has to believe na di ba? (laughs) Not just the whole country but the whole world. Im very proud. Ayos naman. Okay naman lahat. Im proud. I told her congratulations. Sabi ko, Di ba sabi ko sa ‘yo di ba? So ayun lang,” he shared. The Somebody to Love actor said he would prefer to keep his professional life and personal life separate which is why he does not share too many details about his current relationship. “I just want to concentrate on work more and I want to leave my love life to be more quiet because I think its going to be better that way,” he said.
