Matthew 16:18.. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it... what an awesome promise given to the church! Some time ago while studying this passage of scripture it dawned on me, that Jesus was talking about more than an opening in a wall. He said the GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST HIS CHURCH.. In the book of Ruth chapter 4 verses 1-2 when Boaz had business with the NEAR KINSMAN and needed to settle the questions concerning Ruth, He took ten men and set down in the GATES OF THE CITY. There He settled all the LEGAL business of that day.. It occurred to me that the GATES OF THE CITY is more like CITY HALL or THE COURTS of the city... Jesus literally said upon this rock I will build my Church and all the COURTS and LEGAL SYSTEMS of hell CANNOT PREVAIL against His Church...for more than two thousand years, and through all kinds of persecution Satan has tried, but never PREVAILED against the Church. Friend we have a promise from our Lord, Satan NEVER WILL!!!.. God Bless...
