Matthew 18:15 says, “Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. Now this scripture speaks about a sin against ones brother, but could the same principle be used in showing personal concern? If I see someone that appears to be reaching out, should I immediately involve a third party to help them or should I confront my brother one on one? Now nobody is suggesting that we play psychiatrist, but in the event that you feel there is something in your power you can do to help a situation then shouldnt your first option be that one on one invite? I see status sometimes of those that go through a lot in this system, and it pleases me to see them get support by heartfelt comments. Comments directed to them, who can benefit from them. Not to a third party, in hopes that they can do more than the original reader... I for one respect the person speaking to me face to face more than the one that chooses to remain anonymous...
