Matthew 22:29-33 Jesus answered them, You are wrong, because you understand neither the scriptures nor the power of God. For at the resurrection men and women do not marry; no, they are like the angels in heaven. And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you never read what God himself said to you: I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is God, not of the dead, but of the living. And his teaching made a deep impression on the people who heard it. The Sadducees, another denomination at the time, did not believe in the resurrection. And so they too, tried to put Jesus to the test by asking him who a woman would be married to in the resurrection if she had seven husbands that all died before her. Jesus told them they were wrong in their teaching. The problem with our way of thinking is that we cant even begin to comprehend what heaven and the resurrection will be like because our minds are so tuned in to the world we live in now. We still dont quite understand the scriptures nor the power of God. But know this, there is and will be life, after we leave this earthly body. This body is just a shell. God is God of the living. Whether in this life, or the next, we are still alive in Him. Father today we thank you for the power of the resurrection. Whether here, or the hereafter, we want to know you. Bless each one today, as we seek to be taught by you. In Jesus name....
