Matthew 25:23 - His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. It is easy to prepare when we know whats coming. The lord in this parable entrusted his servants with money, expecting them to be wise stewards. Only two understood their purpose. The third decided it was easier to avoid the risk of investment; he feared failure and the wrath of his lord. Obedience requires a measure of sacrifice. When God calls us to something new, we easily focus on the unknowns or the difficulty of the path. Like the third servant, we forget the rewards of serving our Lord and His purposes. The truth is: we serve a generous God. He delights in giving us opportunities beyond our capabilities. He has promised to equip us and remain with us through each bend in the road. Although we may not know what is around the corner, we can trust the One who called us. He is our comfort and courage, sustaining us through difficulty and rewarding us generously. -Dr. Jeremiah- Reading this made me think of getting up and beginning a new year, 2011, without Clayton. My bend in the road, not knowing which way to go or what to do, who to turn to for direction, feeling scared and so alone. I learned that when we say we have faith, faith as small of a mustard seed, that when we use that small amount of faith, it is multiplied many times over! Like that sweet song, Where do I go but to the Lord. If we really believe, when the rubber meets the road, that will tell us if we really believe what we say! I know many of you have lost spouses, children, parents, relatives, friends, health, jobs, and even our country as we knew it, but God promises that He will never leave us or forsake us! No matter our hurts or disappointments we might have, we can stand on His promises and know that He will be with us, carrying our load of sorrows and disappointments and doubts on His shoulders, if we let Him, and He will straighten our path and we can look back and know that without Him, we could not have made it! May each of you have a wonderful 2015 and trust in Him, our healer, our defender. If God is for us, who can be against us! 🎶Jesus is the Sweetest Name I Know!🎶
