Matthew 27:50-54 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud - TopicsExpress

Matthew 27:50-54 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. You read that right, tombs opened and people who were dead came out of their graves upon Jesus resurrection. Think about what that must have been like. The fabric of creation seizes as Christ releases His spirit. In this moment, you cannot deny who He is. Five things that virtually never happen, all happen in the same moment. Creation itself is crying out in response to what has taken place. At this moment, the moment where Christ says, it is finished, all hell breaks loose. The severe depth of this moment is lost on me. The impact though is timeless and life bringing. Deaths hold on us through sin is forever compromised, shattered by the power of what Jesus has done. Light has broken through the darkness and invites us to come.
