Matthew 4:21&22(NLT) A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called to them to come, too. They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind. Now imagine this with me, if you will, your sitting on your front porch on day and this stranger walks past your driveway. You got a pot of bean on the stove and a hot pan of cornbread in the oven, and this stranger yells to you, You there come on come with me. Now you and me would be like, mister I dont know you, Im not going anywhere. But these men, oh these men, the were talking to Jesus. They didnt ask where we goind, how long are we going to be gone, or even are we coming back. No! They IMMEDIATELY got up and followed Jesus, no questions asked. Can you imagine the kind of relationship we would have with Jesus if we just followed him no questions asked? Oh, to have such complete trust in someone to say, alright Ill go. These day just got up and followed someone youd end up on the next episode of CSI. James and John were in the middle of working, their dad was sitting right beside them, and the left him, the net, the fish, and said I quit Im following Jesus!Thats what we need to tell those old habits and the temptations the devil throws at us! We need to tell Satan, I quit, Im going to follow Jesus! I pray someone quits tonight, quit and follow Jesus!! I pray someone is encouraged by this tonight, I pray yall find power, grace, and mercy through Jesus Christ today. Love and peace yall.
